A deserted island

A long scar smashed into th jungle,

was a bath of heat.

That's a reef out in the sea

with no grown-ups at all.

The shore was fledged

with palm trees.

The bank was covered

with coarse grass.

Behind this was the darkness

of the forest proper.

Perhaps a mile away,

the white surf flinked on a coral reef

and beyond that was a dark blue open sea.

A golden light danced and shattered

just over his face.

A blurred sunlight slid

over their bodies.

like bright winged things in the shade.

Here's a land of their own,

a completely deserted island.

Deicison

Decision

The expression in your eyes

Filled with gentleness

You have taken away my breath.

The smile on your face

Overflowing with charm,

You put a fire in my cheeks.

Standing on the road diverged into two,

I wonder…

Sometimes, sometimes,

I believe everything has an ending.

Separation and togetherness are temporary,

Nothing stays forever.

However, sometimes, sometimes,

I would choose obsession

Rather than letting go.

After every promise I have kept,

You’ll see eternity is actually not that far.

So poor I have nothing to lose, I must gamble…

So sorry I can’t let you go, I must swear…

Analysis:

My love poem named “decision” and it was written in free verse. It contains lots of imagery, hyperbole. There are five stanzas with 19 lines in total. The theme of the poem is talking about how the narrator struggles to make a decision about love. She is under a contradictive condition that whether she should let her lover go or retain her blessedness. She makes a inner battle in her mind which has rational versus emotional, but finally she realizes that she cannot let it go when her love knocks. And in the poem “the road diverged into two” actually refers to her incompatible choices!
